Movie News: Paddington Goes to London (and so do I)!

paddington_tree_design_wg039_0090_v002_jmPaddington the Bear goes to London and you can see his adventures on the big screen starting Friday, January 16. I myself am going on my first international journey next week and I’ll be flying through London. I won’t get to see the  city or experience it quite like Paddington since my time will be spent in Heathrow airport on the way to and from India but I imagine my adventures in India will be somewhat eventful and I do share the love of new experiences I see in Paddington’s character.

The great part of this movie is that you see a strong message to make the best of difficult situations and to keep going ’til all is right with the world even if it is not exactly the way we originally planned it.

About Paddington:

After a deadly earthquake destroys his home in Peruvian rainforest, a young bear (Ben Whishaw) makes his way to England in search of a new home. The bear, dubbed “Paddington” for the london train station, finds shelter with the family of Henry (Hugh Bonneville) and Mary Brown (Sally Hawkins). Although Paddington’s amazement at urban living soon endears him to the Browns, someone else has her eye on him: Taxidermist Millicent Clyde (Nicole Kidman) has designs on the rare bear and his hide.
Paddington comes to a theater near you on January 16, 2015.

Movie News: The Identical

the-identical-dvd-cover-83Over the break, I enjoyed reviewing the movie The Identical featuring Ray Liotta, Ashley Judd, Seth Green, and Blake Rayne. I have always enjoyed Liotta, Judd, Pantoliano and Green in movies and they don’t disappoint in this one but the real credit goes to the star of the movie, Blake Rayne, who must play the dual roles of twin brothers who grow up with different lives and follow different paths in life.

I thoroughly enjoyed the twists and turns in this movie that made it fun to watch without all of the crudeness entertainment of today seems to need to add to get an audience. I felt The Identical was well researched in regards to what people wore and how they lived and thought. This is a great movie for the whole family that everyone will enjoy but which also may allow for some interesting discussions between parents and their kids.

ABOUT The Identical:

The Identical is a redemptive movie about a young man, the son of a preacher, who rejects his father’s desire for him to join the ministry and instead embarks on a career as a rock singer. As he struggles to pursue his dream and rise to stardom, he finds love, pain, success, failure and ultimately uncovers a hidden family secret that reveals who he really us. The Identical is a captivating story about a family restored and a life discovered that lifts your soul and warms your heart.
